America, man  kimnach.org  Termeszetes

Multiculturalism is a euphemism for national division.

I opted for Betamax, the world for VHS; I for Amiga, the world for IBM clones.

--it's an e e cummings thing

Welcome to my nightmare, I think you're gonna like it......wait, let's try that again because I used that in my last website version.

2018 ushers in a totally updated version of my website, which had its last major revision ten or so years ago when TWC took over Adelphia in the Greater Cleveland area.  (There have been very infrequent updates to individual pages.)  It remains simple and unadorned: As in 1997 with my first website on ExchangeNet, I maintain that a website having a cacophony of colors, a see of blue splattered with red text, and spinning visuals for the sake of nothing more than, well, spinning text is all useless.  I will incorporate (i.e., copy and paste) a lot of the text to save typing with which I still have much trouble capitalizing.  And these pages will include old pages with little alteration from the original.  For example, my y2k pages from 1998 (remember how the world was going to fall into complete chaos at the stroke of midnight on 1 January 2000?), Charlton Heston's speech at Harvard, and my thoughts on multiculturalism and computers in the classroom remain.

The focus of kimnach.org remains family.  I am maintaining this site primarily as a repository of family history (most of which you cannot see), information exchange, and multimedia--all of which require massive amounts of storage.  Yes, there's facebook, but I am not enthralled with social media and the pitfalls of it.  (My wife and kids are still amazed--she sometimes miffed--how little I text and that I use it for geeky things only.)  Some familiar information will be publicly available on this site, while most family-related multimedia will be available to only those having a password.

As in older revisions of my website, this is not to say that this website is myopic: I will add other information here.  For example, my "lofty goals," for which I still do not seem to have time, will be included here. (Will I ever have time?)  These goals include, for example, the math and engineering tutorials and on-line compound miter calculator with 3D visualization.

One other point: If you cannot understand something then it's probably because it's written poorly, written in Hungarian, or poorly written in Hungarian:-)  I still type fast, so capitalization and grammar will suffer.  (For years my sig files on forums and e-mails has had "it's and e e cummings thing" due to my inability to capitalize.)  Compound that with switching between two languages (i.e., software mapping of an English-101 keyboard) and we'll just have to see what the results are.  Just send me an e-mail asking for clarification.  Also, for now I shall have Hungarian text on the same page as English--this will eventually change to completely separate pages.

The index for this site with active and To Be Done (TBD) links:

Lastly, these pages are or have been created using a suite of tools over the years.  Some pages were created on my Amiga 2000 or 4000 with a text-editor (gold-ed) or Metal-web. Other pages may have been or are created on my Windoze box, using a text editor, HotMetal 4 (archaic), or BlueGriffon.  I had finally reached the point many years ago where the tool (i.e., computer platform or software package) I use isn't that important.....But you'll still have to pry my Amigas out of my cold, dead hands:-)
